เอกอัครราชทูตฯ กล่าวว่า ไทยกับบุรุนดีมีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตอย่างยาวนานมากกว่า 30 ปี มีความร่วมมือหลายด้าน ทั้งการส่งทหารเข้าร่วม United Nations Operation in Burundi และความร่วมมือทางวิชาการในการผลิตยาต้านมาเลเรีย และการผลิตขาเทียมร่วมกับโรงพยาบาลทหาร Kamenge

 

ประธานาธิบดีบุรุนดีเน้นว่า บุรุนดีเป็นประเทศที่สงบสุขและปลอดภัย อยู่ในระหว่างการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคม และมุ่งพัฒนาสาขาความร่วมมือที่หลากหลาย อาทิ การเกษตร การท่องเที่ยว ICT และหวังว่าจะสามารถพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์กับไทยอย่างแน่นแฟ้นมากยิ่งขึ้น

 

On 1 February 2022, Her Excellency Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat presented the Credentials to His Excellency Mr. Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, President of the Republic of Burundi, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Burundi with residence in Nairobi.

 

Ambassador Sasirit emphasized that Thailand and Burundi have a long standing diplomatic relations of more than 30 years. Thailand has contributed military personnel to the UN Operations in Burundi, provided technical assistance of technology transfer in the local production of anti-malarial drugs and protheses, as well as granting scholarships for postgraduate studies and training courses in several fields.

 

President of Burundi reiterated that Burundi is a peaceful country and is in the time of economic and social development in several areas such as agriculture, tourism, and also ICT. Burundi hopes to deepen relationship and to further promote the bilateral cooperation with Thailand.
