ก้าวสำคัญของศูนย์เรียนรู้เทคโนโลยีการเกษตรอย่างยั่งยืนไทย-เคนยา: เมื่อวันที่ 16 มีนาคม 2566 สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงไนโรบี โดย น.ส. ศศิริทธิ์ ตันกุลรัตน์ เอกอัครราชทูต ได้เยือน Kenya School of Agriculture และเป็นประธานในพิธีมอบเครื่องจักรกลการเกษตร (รถไถเดินตามผลิตโดยบริษัทดาวบิน) อุปกรณ์การเกษตร และผลิตภัณฑ์เทคโนโลยีการเกษตรไทยอื่น ๆ ให้แก่ศูนย์เรียนรู้เทคโนโลยีการเกษตรอย่างยั่งยืน ไทย-เคนยา ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่ Kenya School of Agriculture เมือง Nyeri เพื่อใช้ประกอบนิทรรศการถาวรของศูนย์ฯ และใช้สำหรับเป็นเครื่องมือประกอบการเรียนการสอน โดยเอกอัครราชทูตได้แสดงความเชื่อมั่นว่า เคนยาจะสามารถพัฒนาไปสู่ความเป็นประเทศที่บรรลุความมั่นคงทางอาหารได้ในไม่ช้า โดยสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ มีความตั้งใจที่จะเป็นส่วนหนึ่ง ของกระบวนการพัฒนาด้านการเกษตรของเคนยา โดยการแบ่งปันองค์ความรู้เทคโนโลยีการเกษตร ของไทยให้แก่เคนยา ซึ่งเป็นที่มาของโครงการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีการเกษตรอย่างยั่งยืนไทย-เคนยา สนับสนุนโดยกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ (TICA) สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงไนโรบี มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ Kenya School of Agriculture ทั้งนี้ ภายใต้โครงการฯ ดังกล่าว คณาจารย์และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการเกษตร มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นมีกำหนดเดินทางมาจัดอบรมที่ศูนย์ฯ ในช่วงกลางปี 2566 และอาสาสมัครเพื่อนไทยก็มีกำหนดที่จะเดินทางมาปฏิบัติหน้าที่ที่ศูนย์ฯ เช่นกันในช่วงต้นปี 2567
A big step for the Thailand-Kenya Agro technologies Learning Center: On 16 March 2023, the Thailand-Kenya Agro technologies Center, located at Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA) in Nyeri, welcomed its first power tiller to be used for demonstration and learning purposes. The made-by-Thai technology (Flying Star Co.Ltd.) power tiller was donated by the Royal Thai Government along with other agricultural equipment and agro-products to form the Centre’s permanent exhibition as well as to be training materials. H.E. Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Ambassador of Thailand, during the hand-over ceremony, remarked that she was confident that Kenya blessed by abundant natural resources was on the right path towards becoming a self-sustainable and food-secured country, and that it was the Royal Thai Embassy’s intention to contribute to that process by sharing Thailand’s agricultural best practices and technologies with Kenya. That very intention was the reason behind the Project “Thailand-Kenya Sustainable Agro-technological Development” partnering the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, Khon Kaen University, with Kenya School of Agriculture. The Centre is expected to welcome a group of Thai experts from Khon Kaen University who will provide trainings in mid-2023, as well as Friends from Thailand (FFT) Volunteers who will arrive to work at the Centre beginning of 2024.
