เมื่อวันที่ 20-22 มิถุนายน 2565 พล.อ.สุภโชค ธวัชพีระชัย รองผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุด และคณะได้เดินทางไปยังสาธารณรัฐเซาท์ซูดานเพื่อตรวจเยี่ยมภารกิจกองร้อยทหารช่างเฉพาะกิจไทยในเซาท์ซูดาน ผลัดที่ 3 โดยมีนายต่อศักดิ์ จันทร์เพียร อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา และนายนราวิชญ์ องคมงคล เลขานุการเอก สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงไนโรบี เป็นผู้แทนให้การต้อนรับและร่วมเดินทางไปกับคณะด้วย ในโอกาสนี้ รองผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุดได้พบหารือบุคคลสำคัญระดับสูงของภารกิจรักษาสันติภาพของสหประชาชาติในเซาท์ซูดาน (United Nations Mission in South Sudan – UNMISS) อาทิ รองผู้แทนพิเศษเลขาธิการสหประชาชาติด้านการเมืองเซาท์ซูดาน รักษาการหัวหน้ากองกำลัง (Acting Force Commander) นอกจากนี้ ยังได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหมเซาท์ซูดาน โดยรองผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุดได้เน้นย้ำความพร้อมของไทยในการสนับสนุนปฏิบัติการรักษาสันติภาพในเซาท์ซูดานเพื่อสร้างสันติภาพอย่างยั่งยืน ตลอดจนการให้ความช่วยเหลือในการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนชาวเซาท์ซูดาน โดยการน้อมนำหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงเป็นแนวทางในการส่งเสริมองค์ความรู้ด้านการเกษตรให้แก่ชาวเซาท์ซูดาน รวมทั้งบูรณาการการทำงานร่วมกับสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงไนโรบี สหประชาชาติ และรัฐบาลเซาท์ซูดานเพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างกันในการสร้างสันติภาพที่ยั่งยืนในเซาท์ซูดาน

General Supachok Tawatpeerachai, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence of Thailand, led the Thai delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, comprising Mr. Torsak Janpian, Minister Counsellor, and Mr. Naravit Ongkamongkol, First Secretary, to travel to South Sudan during 20-22 June 2022 to visit Thailand’s Horizontal Military Engineering Company (HMEC) under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and met with the high-level executives of UNMISS, including Deputy Special Representative (Political) of the Secretary-General and Deputy Head of UNMISS, Acting Force Commander. Moreover, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces paid a courtesy call on Ms. Angelina Teny, Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs of South Sudan. During the meetings, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces reiterated Thailand’s commitment to support the peacebuilding operations of the United Nations in South Sudan and to provide technical cooperation with a view to streamlining the livelihood of the South Sudanese people by sharing the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) through the Agricultural Learning Centre and integrating projects with the concerned agencies, including the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, the UN bodies, and the Government of South Sudan, with a view to fostering cooperation on building a long-lasting peace in South Sudan.
