On 14 Spetember 2021, H.E. Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat presented the Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Republic of Seychelles, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Seychelles with residence in Nairobi.
Ambassador Sasirit is determined to further strengthen the existing cordial relations between Thailand and Seychelles in all areas of mutual benefits of the two countries, particularly, in the fiishery, tourism sector, and development coooperation. Meanwhile, the President of the Republic of Seychelles expressed his gratitude for the continued support for the technical cooperation provided by the Thai government. He further reiterated his commitment to continue enhancing the bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and Thailand on other key areas including tourism and fishery, which the two countries had expertise and experiences.
After presenting the Credentials to the President, Ambassador Sasirit paid a courtesy call on Mr. Ahmed Afif, Vice President of Seychelles. On this occasion, Vice President of Seychelles congratulated Ambassador Sasirit on her accreditation as the Thai Ambassador to Seychelles and commended Thailand on her various expertises, especially, on fishery and medical tourism sectors. He further mentioned that before the COVID-19 pandemic, each year approximately a thousand of Seychellois people travelled to Thailand for medical treatment as Thailand had a high standard of medical treatment with reasonable cost. The Vice President viewed that both sides could further enhance bilateral cooperation in the years ahead. At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Sasirit reiterated that Thailand stood ready to strengthen partnership with Seychelles in all dimensions.
