เอกอัครราชทูตศศิริทธิ์ฯ ระบุว่า ไทยกับโซมาเลียมีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตมายาวนานถึง 39 ปี ตั้งแต่ปี 2527 เน้นย้ำความตั้งใจของฝ่ายไทยในการพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์และความร่วมมือกับฝ่ายโซมาเลียในหลายด้าย เช่นการพัฒนาศักยภาพบุคลากรในภาคการเกษตร และสาธารสุข รวมถึงความร่วมมือด้านอื่นๆ ที่เป็นประโยชน์ร่วมกันในอนาคต โดยประธานาธิบดีโซมาเลียกล่าวว่า ยินดีร่วมมือกับฝ่ายไทยในทุกด้าน และหวังว่าฝ่ายไทยจะร่วมสนับสนุนโซมาเลียในเวทีระหว่างประเทศต่าง ๆ

 

Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat presented the Credentials to His Excellency Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia appointing her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Federal Republic of Somalia with residence in Nairobi, on 6 February 2023 at Villa Somalia.

 

Ambassador Sasirit stated that Thailand and Somalia have established diplomatic relations since 1984, and reiterated the commitment of the Thai side to cooperate with Somalia in several fields such as capacity building in agriculture and public health, and also further cooperation in areas of mutual benefits.

President Mohamud said that Somalia would like to improve further relations and collaboration with the Thai side in all areas and hoped that Thailand would support Somalia in the international community.
